Experimental Abstracts
These are some abstract type weights that were probably made by various workers at Strathearn over the years as Strathearn Management encouraged its workers to experiment not only to hone their skills but also on the off chance that a really good design would show up. Many of these one offs were made as gifts for friends and relatives or perhaps for an extra bit of money. I have no idea of when they were made or by whom. Weights #1, 2, were purchased in a lot of 10 weights and later weights #6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 were all purchased together in a large lot of 39 Strathearns from the same seller. Weight #2 has a Strathearn label. Weights #3 and #4 have the Strathearn Leaping Salmon logo impressed into the bottom of the weight. Weight #5 looks like an experiment with the Strathearn Tropic P5 weight and has an unusual foot, very rare for a Strathearn weight. I'm sure there are many more of these experimental or self expression weights out there but unless someone would know for 100% certain it would be almost impossible to determine that it was a Strathearn paperweight. On these abstract weights I am using a "PE" designation for "Paperweight Experimental" until I come up with more information or a better idea. For lack of any specific names for these weights I have picked names for them that seem to represent the weights design.
