Strathearn classified their Lace weights as only Large and Small. These P22 weights are the Small ones, however, as with many of Strathearn's pwt series I find a lot of size variation so I've divided these P22 Lace weights into Small at less than 2.5" wide and Medium at more than 2.5" but less than about 2.75" as these start the large catagory. These medium to small Lace weights usually have between ten to eleven spaced canes in each pwt. They were produced from 1965 to 1 May 1978 when they were discontinued. Some of these were signed and dated such as the EIIR77 weight which has its own catagory, some were used as the knob of the DK2 Lace Doorknob and some were just signed and dated. I have seen a couple of these signed and dated P22's but I don't have an example of one yet but once I find one I'll list a new album as P22DS. I have no idea of how many of these were produced each year but Dave Moir has mentioned to me that all the Lace pwts were a bit difficult and time consuming to make due to the delicate nature of the latticino strands used. A very attractive pwt in any size.
