These Strathearn P10 Large signed and dated millefiori cartwheel or spoke weights are some of the best that Strathearn made over the years. They were a special series made each year, were of a large size from 2.9" to 3.3", always on a clear ground and were always signed and dated. They were made with 7, 8, 9, and 10 spokes and in a 1-1-2 design, a 1-2-2 design, a 1-2-3 design and a 1-2-2-3 design that I have found so far. At this time I don't have any definitive proof that they were a limited edition weight but they rarely show up so for the time being I am assuming that they were a Limited Edition and probably limited to around 100 to 150 per year. Not exactly sure when they were first made but the earliest ones that I've found are dated 1969. They were only made until mid 1978 as the Strathearn brochure that I have indicates that they were discontinued on 1 May 1978 but I do have one dated 1979 and this 1979 one is probably very rare as it is the only one that I've ever seen to date. Also according to Dave Moir, he said that there were not a lot of these P10's made but it was impossible for him to remember how many of each pwt that was made and that these were "special up market types".
