Strathearn Sulfide weights are quite rare and according to Dave Moir and Herbert Dreier rather difficult to make because of the high glass heat affecting the sulfide piece. As seen in the first example the sulfide cracked enough to form an air bubble. Herbert Dreier in a conversation with Kevin Holt would not comment on who might have made these but Herbert did say that on those sulfides that he made the signature cane was always placed on the base of the weight. Other than these two in my collection the only others I've seen are as shown in John Simmonds book "Paperweights from Great Britain 1930-2000". The third sulfide shown is a very rare Jack Allen (JA orange cane) crown sulfide over a ground of complex Monart and early Ysart Bros Glass canes.
