These Strathearn Flower weights are all one of a kind experimental or self-expression weights made by Strathearn workers either on their off time or during the period before Strathearn ceased all paperweight production in 1980. Flower weights #2, #6 and #10 were made by Herbert Dreier and he has confirmed this me to in writing. Flower weight #1 has an S79 cane in it and an older Vasart cane as the flower center. Flower weight #3 is a very unusual multi-faceted weight with four top facets and four side facets. Flower weight #4 has a top facet and a rare amber ground. Flower weight #5 is very, very unusual in that while the flower is not particularily well made the center cane is a known Paul Ysart cane. Weight #8 uses one of Herbert Dreier's Red multi-rod canes which he designed in 1979...this cane also comes in blue. Flower weight #11 is a very rare pedestaled Red Orchid weight and Herbert even mentioned that Strathearn never used pedestals on any of their weights and he can't remember who made this one. Several of these Flower weights are of Magnum size.
