This is the Strathearn PP92 minature weight. It is the third weight in the P9 minature first series. The second in the series is the PP9 which has a top facet and a side facet so the weight stands in a upright position (what strathearn called a portrait weight). This PP92 minature weight has a top facet only. I don't know yet in what years it was produced but it does not show up in any of the brochures that I have from 1974 to 1980 so for the time being I am going to classify this as from 1975 to 1980 and then make changes to this timeframe if and when I find out any additional information. While there is always the possibility that weights like this were faceted on top to repair damage that could not otherwise be repaired however, I think not because there are also a number of P8 medium to small spoke weights that I have seen and have examples of that also have only a top facet and that would be a lot of weights top faceted only just to repair damage. It is also quite possible that weights like this were intended to be PP9 with a top and side facet but for whatever reason were top faceted but then never finished. Therefore, I do believe that these are legitimate Strathearn weights. I just don't know the production timeframes yet.
