These stunning Strathearn paperweights #1, #2, #3, #4 and #6 were all made by Herbert Dreier and I have written confirmation from him that he made them in the 1979 to 1980 period before Strathearn ceased all paperweight production with the exception of the tall three-tiered millefiori one which I believe was also made by him. This magnificient triple-tiered millefiori weight is just stunning in all of its details using three standard spoke designs tiered inside of a P6 style glass. A one of a kind weight. The "C" scroll weight is also most likely by Herbert as the blue multi-rod canes are his design and each of the six scrolls is capped with a complex millefiori cane. Paperweights #1, #2, #3 and #6 were featured in two articles I authored in 2003 one for the Delaware Valley PCA newsletter of September 2003 and one for the Cambridge Paperweight Circle newsletter of December 2003. It is a shame that Strathearn ceased paperweight production in 1980 and that Dave Moir, Herbert Dreier and others did not have the opportunity to continue developing their talents. It is obvious from these weights that their talent and skill was considerable.
